Sapphire wins four awards at Venus 2011

 

            Sapphire Media International consolidated its position as Europe’s leading distributor of adult entertainment networks by receiving no less than four awards for its services at this year's Venus Awards in Berlin, beating its already impressive 2010 tally of three awards.

For the third consecutive year, the company won "Best Adult TV Channel Germany" with Hustler TV Germany and the "Best International Adult TV Channel" went to Hustler TV again. The company also won "Best Offer VOD International" for the second year running and beat off rivals to win “Best HD Channel” with its new Hustler HD/3D channel.

Stephanie Murdoch-Meyer, Director of Sales and Marketing at Sapphire Media said that these awards reinforced Sapphire’s dominant position in the marketplace. “Combining the linear channels and the VOD offering, Sapphire has the strongest portfolio of content available in the market today,” she said.

            The new HD (and 3D ready) channel, HustlerHD/3D was launched earlier this year and has already got a foothold in some major European territories, with Poland being the recent success. The channel launched on Cyfra+ and is shortly to be broadcast on Polsat.

            Sapphire has also concentrated on building up its VOD business, responding to the increased demand as distribution platforms across Europe have become technically capable of operating VOD systems. The company has a large catalogue, culled from the best European and US production studios with Hustler’s notorious parodies being especially popular. HD and 3D programmes are also particularly suited for VOD distribution and the catalogue includes a large number of titles in both formats.

            “Next year we want to win five awards!” says Murdoch-Meyer, something that, given the company’s recent growth, looks more than likely.
